To coincide with the 30th anniversary of the GEL-LYTE™ III OG sneaker, we’re relaunching our Made in Japan program with a handcrafted rendition of our retro runner. Constructed with a soft Kobe beef leather on the upper that’s rendered with a Sakura color palette to pay homage to Japan’s cherry blossom season, this shoe is also stitched with an ornate embroidery on the ASICS stripe logos. The heel is scripted with the phrase, “GEL-LYTE™ III” in Japanese lettering while the numbers, “19” and “90” are carved into the back-signifying the year this silhouette first hit the running market.
