ASICS is a Japanese multinational corporation that produces sports equipment and footwear designed for an extensive range of sports, usually in the upper price range. In recent years, the brand’s running shoes have always been ranked as one of the top performance footwear available in the market. With their stylish designs and high level of comfort the brand has also gathered many fashion lovers to embrace the sneakers they create.

Staying true to the ideology by which the company was established, every ASICS idea, concept and innovation is meant to produce the best product. On 7 September 2018, the brand became the official supplier of IPC (International Paralympic Committee). The deal is going to be valid through to the year 2020 to support the Paralympic Movement.

The company started as Onitsuka Co., Ltd in 1949. Kihachiro Onitsuka was the founder, and he started manufacturing basketball shoes in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, in his living room. In 1977, Onitsuka renamed the company to ASICS, which is an acronym of Anima Sana In Corpore Sano (a famous Latin phrase). ASICS was established on the idea that the best way you can create a healthy, happy lifestyle is by promoting total health and fitness. During the same year, ASICS products were introduced in the US, and they came with a remarkable story of technical advancements and athletic performance, a philosophy that still holds true today.
