Arch Fit is about the one component most shoe brands routinely leave out: the footbed. Skechers spent years collecting foot pressure measurements for that purpose, reportedly from tens of thousands of feet, and used that data to design an insole with a shape-stable support under the arch. Where a regular insole is flat and only adds cushioning, this one is meant to actively support the foot.
The difference is in the shape, not the material. The footbed has a raised area that falls precisely under the arch and a cup-shaped heel that centers the foot; it is removable so you can compare it with what’s standard in other shoes. The shoes around it are generally lightly built, with a knitted upper and a simple foam sole.
The line serves a clear audience: people who walk or stand all day, and wearers with tired feet who don’t want to buy a separate support insole. That also explains why Skechers rolls the technology out so broadly, from walking models to work shoes.
Variants often combine the footbed with other systems from the brand: with the slip-on system of the Skechers Slip-ins, with the walking sole of the Skechers GO Walk or with the thick sole of the Skechers Max Cushioning. The title of the variant states which combination it is.
