About UGG Bailey

UGG Bailey

The Bailey is the branch of UGG that added something to the shaft. Where the Classic family keeps to a smooth shaft, this model got a closure as an ornament: on the Bailey Button a wooden button with an elastic loop, on the Bailey Bow two ribbons that fall as bows over the back. What started as a practical solution to fold the shaft down became the brand’s decorative face.

The rest of the construction is familiar. Suede upper with reversible shearling inside, wool that curls over the top edge, and beneath it the light textured sole shared by all the brand’s classics. On the Bow versions the bows themselves are made of woven ribbon with a suede button threaded through, and at the back runs the braided seam that splits the boot in two.

The Bailey is also the children’s side of the range. In the assortment on this page the designations GS, K and T appear, the codes for the larger kids’ sizes and the tiniest; the bows are what made the model popular with that group. For adults the line continues in the same versions.

If you prefer a smooth shaft, look at the Ugg Classic Mini or the shorter Ugg Classic Ultra Mini. If you’re looking for something without a shaft, the Ugg Tasman and the Ugg Neumel are the logical alternatives within the same brand.
