About Puma Speedcat Go

The wearable side of the racing sneaker

The Puma Speedcat Go is the comfortable, everyday version of the Speedcat, the slim racing sneaker from motorsport. Where the classic Speedcat is entirely about suede and an ultra-thin sole, the Go mixes mesh with suede and adds an elastic, toggle-like lace that lets you slip in quickly. The silhouette remains low and streamlined, with the Formstrip along the side, but the construction is lighter and easier to wear.

Mesh, suede and an elastic lace

The build aims for comfort. A breathable mesh fills most of the upper, with suede on the toe, the heel and around the Formstrip. The elastic lace with a toggle makes putting on and taking off fast, without untying. Underfoot sits a low, slightly built-up sole, sportier and more comfortable than the pure race sole of the original Speedcat. The whole is light and flexible.

The Speedcat, for everyday wear

The Speedcat is enjoying a strong comeback, and the Go is the version that brings the race-sneaker silhouette into daily use. It appears mainly in the women’s line and in fresh colors, from red and black to softer shades, plus editions like the Bejewelled version. The race-sneaker shape remains; wearability is the priority.

Alongside the other Speedcats

The Go stands alongside the low classic Speedcat and the high Speedcat Mid with its ankle strap. Where the Mid stays close to the pure, thin motorsport shape, the Go opts for a lighter, more comfortable construction. Together they show how widely Puma fills the Speedcat silhouette.

What differs per version

The low race-sneaker shape, the mesh-with-suede upper, the Formstrip and the elastic lace remain the same across versions. What varies is the color and whether it’s a regular or a special edition. Put two versions side by side and the shoe is the same; the styling sets the tone.
