About Puma RS-Z
Chunky successor to the Running System
The RS-Z builds on PUMA’s “Running System” (RS), a cushioning platform the brand developed in the 1980s. The original RS centered on the Multiplex midsole, which combined cushioning and motion control — groundbreaking running tech for its time.
From running innovation to retro icon
That same line even produced the RS-Computer, the world’s first running shoe with a built-in computer. Decades later, PUMA brought the RS DNA back as a lifestyle silhouette, with the now-recognizable chunky, layered shapes.
Bold and layered
The RS-Z leans hard into that retro-futuristic character: hefty proportions, bold color blocking, and a pronounced sole. More a statement sneaker than a performance shoe — a modern nod to PUMA’s own running history.
