The Onitsuka Tiger EDR 78 brings back a running shoe from the late 1970s, and sticks closely to it. The silhouette is low, narrow and elongated, with an upper of leather and suede: leather panels on the flank, suede on the toe and the heel. Across them run the Tiger Stripes, the curved stripes the brand has used since its running days. The number 78 places the silhouette in that era.
A real running sole, not a flat casual
Unlike the flat sneakers from the same stable, the EDR 78 has a slight wedge sole: a foam midsole that gets thicker toward the heel, with a textured outsole beneath.
