Nike React: the foam that got its own shoes
Nike React is not a model but a material: a cushioning foam that debuted with basketball players in 2017 and in 2018 made the jump to running and the street. It was Nike’s answer to the foam arms race that adidas started with Boost — see the UltraBOOST for that side of the story. This page collects the shoes that carry the foam in their name, and they are quite different characters.
The lifestyle branch began with the React Element 87 from 2018: a statement shoe with a translucent upper where you can see the sock through. The React Element 55 made that formula accessible and is by far the majority on this page.
