About Nike Dunk SB Mid

The Dunk, tuned for skating

The Nike SB Dunk Mid is the skate version of the classic Dunk, sitting mid-height between the Low and the High. Nike Skateboarding took the old court silhouette and rebuilt it for the board: a thick, padded tongue, a cushioned collar around the ankle and a sturdier upper that can withstand scuffs from grip tape. The result is still a Dunk, but one that can take a beating.

The construction

Under the foot many versions have a Zoom Air insole, which provides cushioning without lifting the shoe high off the ground. That keeps the boardfeel direct while absorbing landings. The mid-high shaft with the extra padding gives a bit more ankle support than the Low, without the bulk of a true high-top.

From board to street

Like the rest of the SB line, the Dunk Mid grew from a pure skate shoe into a sought-after lifestyle model. The upper lends itself to suede, nubuck and leather in endless colorways, and that combination of skate DNA and Dunk shape makes it a beloved collectible.
