About Nike Air Max Dawn

Nike Air Max Dawn

The Air Max Dawn is one of the most understated models in the Air Max family, and that’s intentional. Whereas the better-known members put their air unit on display, this model sticks to a compact unit under the heel and a silhouette derived from 1990s running shoes: low, narrow and with stitched panels over a mesh base.

The design leans on reuse. Nike uses a significant proportion of recycled material in this model, visible in the speckled structure of the mesh and in the sole, where the foam has a mottled tint. The swoosh sits as a separately stitched panel on the side, with a second, smaller mark on the heel.

Its positioning is that of the accessible part of the family: not a collector’s item and not a technical statement, but an everyday sneaker with an air unit. That explains the wide availability and the lower price.

Within the family the Nike Air Max 95 and the Nike Air Max Plus represent the classic side; the full overview can be found on the Nike Air Max page.
