What is the Miu Miu Tyre?

The Tyre is a low-top sneaker by Miu Miu in the style of a retro trail runner. Its distinctive features are the thick rubber sole with a deep tyre tread and the quilted technical nylon upper with suede.

Where does the name Tyre come from?

From the sole. It has a coarse, block-patterned tread that looks like a car tyre, with "miu miu" stamped into the rubber. The tyre tread is the shoe’s most distinctive feature.

What is the Miu Miu Tyre made of?

The upper is made of lightly quilted technical nylon, with suede on the toe and heel. Underneath is a sturdy rubber trail sole with a tyre tread. The soft upper and rugged sole are intentionally contrasted.

Is the Tyre also available as a ballet flat?

Yes. Alongside the lace-up version, there is a ballet flat version that places the same tyre sole under a flat, open shoe. The sneaker and ballet flat therefore literally share the same sole.
