Brooks Glycerin

The Glycerin is the softest shoe Brooks makes, and that is a deliberate position for the brand. While most manufacturers build their flagship around speed, this is the opposite: as much cushioning under the foot as possible, for runners who value comfort more than tenths of a second. It’s the shoe for easy miles and recovery runs.

The sole prominently displays the name of the cushioning technology. The model name is printed along the side of the midsole, alongside the foam designation and a row of dots that mark the construction. The foam itself is nitrogen-blown, keeping it light despite the thickness, and the midsole edge forms a wide band that flares toward the heel. The upper is a double-layer knitted panel with a padded collar.
