About Adidas Velosamba
Adidas Velosamba
The Velosamba is the Adidas Samba you can ride a bike in. Adidas took its most famous classic and turned it into a genuine cycling shoe: under the sole is a recessed fitting that lets you use clip-in pedals, hidden behind a cover plate you remove when needed.
From the outside it remains a Samba. The same leather upper with the three stripes, the same suede toe and the same gum sole, with the model name in gold letters on the side as the only difference. Under the sole runs a stiffer plate that transfers power to the pedal instead of flexing, and the lace eyelets are positioned so they won’t get caught in the chain.
The idea behind it is practical: cycling shoes are generally impossible to walk in once you step off the bike. This model solves that by simply looking like a sneaker and walking like one too, which made it popular with bike messengers and city cyclists.
There are versions without the clip fitting for those who want the look without the mechanics. The classic model is on the Adidas Samba page.
On this page you can see which versions of the Adidas Velosamba are hottest right now according to the Hypescore, from which price they can be found and in how many shops they are in stock.
