About Adidas Crazyflight
Adidas Crazyflight
The Crazyflight is the volleyball shoe from adidas, a category you rarely encounter on the street. Volleyball players jump hundreds of times per match and land just as often, which calls for a shoe that is light for jumping but absorbs the impact of landing: two requirements that work against each other.
The solution is in the sole construction. Under the foot lies the resilient foam of compressed granules that the brand also uses in its running models, visible as a granular texture on the sole edge, with a flat rubber outsole beneath for grip on the indoor court. The upper is a thin woven plane with the three stripes as wide bands over it and a reinforced toe to protect against scraping during dives.
The colorways are accordingly bright, which is common in indoor sports. For those who want to wear the shoe outdoors that is a consideration; the flat sole is also not made for asphalt.
Within the indoor lineup the Asics Skyhand covers the handball corner in a retro style, while the Adidas Dropset fills the strength-training role.
