BAPE — sneaker collabs
A Bathing Ape, commonly known as BAPE, was founded in 1993 by Japanese designer Nigo and grew into one of the most recognizable names in streetwear. Together with graphic designer Sk8thing the visual language that defines the brand emerged: the Ape Head, the ABC Camo and Baby Milo. On this page the BAPE collabs are grouped together, with for each release the prices, sizes and availability from multiple online stores shown side by side.
From the Bapesta to adidas
The most famous in-house silhouette is the Bapesta from 2002, BAPE's reinterpretation of the Nike Air Force 1, which became a cultural streetwear icon. The collaboration with adidas dates back to the "Super Ape Star" from 2003, but from 2018 took on a new, ongoing form: the Superstar x BAPE brought the distinctive camo pattern and the shark-face print to one of adidas' classics.
In addition, projects appeared with brands like Vans and New Balance, each time bearing the direct, recognizable BAPE signature. It is streetwear heritage that combines scarcity and recognizability.
Which BAPE gives off the strongest hype signal?
The Hypescore reads the signal strength of every BAPE colorway. Community votes, resale movement, search demand and scarcity together decide how much hype a sneaker gives off, expressed in GSv. On the left the strongest hype signals, on the right the colorways just being picked up and rising fast.
