adidas Megaride

The adidas Megaride comes straight from the archives. In the 2000s it was a running shoe where adidas could express its technical ambitions, and that exact period has now come back. What set the model apart back then is still the first thing you notice: the open midsole tunnels that run through the cushioning.

Those tunnels are not a decorative afterthought but the core of the construction. They give the sole its characteristic silhouette and reveal how weight is absorbed. Above them sits an upper of open mesh that lets air through, with a mudguard around the toe for protection and a padded collar that comfortably wraps the ankle. The fit is regular and the model is unisex.

A whole range has since grown around this base. The Megaride F50 borrows from football, the Megaride S2 adds a zipper and a rubber cage, the Megaride AG extends the tunnels across the full length, and the Moonrubber Megaride wraps the silhouette entirely in rubber.
