Most colorways pick a color and stick with it. The Air Max 95 “Greedy” does the exact opposite: it raids its own family archive, grabs a piece from every legendary 95, and stitches the loot together into something that makes no sense on paper but instantly works on your feet. It returns via SNKRS on September 1. And this time, it comes with the Big Bubble underneath.
The name isn’t marketing — it’s a diagnosis
When the Air Max 95 turned 20 in 2015, Nike made a pair that simply couldn’t choose. Bits of Neon, bits of Grape, bits of Solar Red — all at once on a single upper. In sneaker circles, a shoe like that is called a “What The”, and that’s exactly what this is: an archive emptying itself out and proudly showing the results. Greedy. But with taste.
What’s happening in the photos
The foundation is classic 95, with layered side panels that progress from dark to light: taupe and gray down below, sand and off-white toward the top. And then the party starts. An orange Swoosh on the heel. Purple on the collar and lace panel. A jade green section on the tongue with a white Nike logo on top. Orange lace tunnels running along a black mesh strip, plus a salmon-pink gradient fading into the upper mesh panel. Black midsole, black outsole, and visible Air caught between them.
That bubble is the real story
Because that’s where the catch lies. The heel once again features the large, visible Air unit that the 95 debuted with in 1995 — the one that spent years being replaced by a smaller, more conservatively packaged unit. Orange-tinted, stretched wide, exactly as you remember it. Up front, the separate bubbles are still there alongside it. The fact that the “Greedy” is returning on this tooling now is no coincidence: Nike has systematically brought the Big Bubble back to its biggest 95 releases over the past two years, and this is the kind of colorway where that difference is genuinely impossible to miss.
The hype is already building before the drop
Our own comparison currently shows three active listings for stylecode IM2211-001, with the cheapest asking 264 euros. For a shoe that hasn’t even hit stores yet. The U.S. retail price is set at 200 dollars, so the resale market has already made up its mind while SNKRS still says “coming soon”. That’s not necessarily a reason to pay up now — but it is the clearest sign that this one is on people’s radar and that September 1 could get hectic.
So my advice is boring and simple: wait for the release, have your size ready, and only then see what the market does. With a retro like this, the difference between the first tab and the fifth is often the price of a second pair.
