About

Nike P-6000

The P-6000 wears its family tree in its name: the P is for Pegasus, and the shoe is grafted onto the Pegasus runners from around 2006. It is not a reissue of one model but a rework of that era, released in 2019 when demand for silvery 2000s runners came back. What sets it apart from the rest of that lineup you see in a single glance.

There is a net over the shoe

The upper is an open mesh with thin leather bands stitched crosswise over it, like a lattice spanning the whole shoe. Those bands are no loose overlays but a continuous grid: they cross each other, run on under the lace eyes and anchor in the sole edge. The small outlined swoosh sits in the middle of it. Of all the 2000s runners that came back, this is the only one where the web itself is the face.

The sole writes its own name

On the midsole it reads RIDELINER, the name of the cushioning system from the donor era, and the sole lines wave along with that handwriting. The heel reads P-6000. Up front an oval vent window sits in the side of the toe. Silver and off-white are the parent tones: the versions that hit the era best shine the way running shoes shone around 2006.

Between Pegasus and the tech runners

The P-6000 hangs between two worlds. Its forefather lives on at the Nike Air Pegasus page, where the continuous running line sits. Its company on the street is the tech-runner lineup: the Zoom Vomero is the busier and pricier take on the same era, the Asics Gel-NYC and the New Balance 9060 the counterparts from other brands. Within that lineup the P-6000 is usually the most accessible, and with its lattice the easiest to recognize.
