Vroeger, toen sporten nog hardlopen betekende en stijl stond voor sweatbands en fluwelen T-shirts, zette PUMA alles op zijn kop met een lichte hardloopschoen gemaakt voor topprestaties. Deze schoen, genaamd de Cabana Racer Fun, was bedoeld voor de serieuze hardlopers. Het model had een platte zool om je voet laag bij de grond te houden en zo elke spier te versterken, en bood ademende demping. Perfect voor op de baan en in de bossen. De nieuwe R78 is gebaseerd op de Cabana en barst van de verwijzingen naar de harloopscene van weleer. Het R78-design is geïnspireerd door de jaren 70, maar krijgt door het gebruik van nylon en ripstop in verrassende afwerkingen toch een heel trendy allure.
