Nike Air VaporMax Moc 2.0: cords where there used to be a strap

The VaporMax removed the midsole and lets you walk directly on air chambers. The Moc branch went a step further and also removed the laces. What remains is a knitted sock you pull on like a moccasin, with the transparent chambers underneath that you can see right through. Less shoe is hard to get without going barefoot.

The difference with the first Moc sits exactly at the instep, and that’s the question most people open this page for. The original Moc held the foot with a single wide elastic band that lay like a strap across the midfoot. The 2.0 removes that band and instead threads thin cords through the knit, leaving the instep largely open. At the back something was also added that the first didn’t have: a sturdy heel panel with a row of round holes and a pull tab, so you have something to grip when putting them on.

The chambers themselves remain the spectacle. They sit like separate transparent bubbles side by side under the foot, with small rubber caps on the contact points as the only protection. On the knit, FK in some listings stands for Flyknit, the knitted upper that wraps the foot in one piece.

A practical note: this page, with four connected shops, sits right at the lower limit of what we display. The selection is therefore narrow and the sizing limited accordingly. Those who want to see the broader VaporMax family can go to the VaporMax Plus or the Flyknit, where more versions are shown side by side.
