The foam clog from Jordan

The Jordan Hex Mule is a closed foam mule: a one-piece molded slip-on with a closed toe and an open heel. The silhouette is smooth and monochrome, with a faceted, angular sole rim that gives the shoe its name, and a Jumpman pressed into the footbed. It’s Jordan’s minimalist side of the mule, a clog to slip into, built on comfort and shape rather than on detail.

The construction is as simple as the silhouette. The whole shoe is formed from lightweight foam, which makes it soft underfoot and airy on the body. The closed toe covers the toes, while the open heel keeps putting them on and taking them off quick. The angular facets on the sole rim give the smooth block a bit of character.

Under the Jordan Mule

The Hex Mule falls under the broader Jordan Mule, which also includes the neater leather loafer mule. Where that loafer mule looks more classic and dressier, the Hex Mule opts for the opposite: bare, monochrome and sculptural. Two takes on the same heel-less idea, each with its own mood.

The Hex Mule lives in Jordan’s summery, heel-less corner, alongside open models like the Play Slide, and has also appeared in special editions, including an edition with Billie Eilish. The shape stays the same; the color and the theme vary. It’s a shoe for the warm months and for moments after sports, not for the court itself.

What varies by version

The foam construction, the closed toe and the faceted sole rim remain the same across versions. What changes is almost only the color, from deep black and warm orange to softer and brighter tones. Place two versions side by side and the clog is the same; the color makes the difference.
