Nike KD 19 “Gorge Green” (IH1117-300): all green, and it works

Nike KD 19 Gorge Green IH1117-300

Green. All of it. Toe, heel, laces, sole. The Nike KD 19 “Gorge Green” (IH1117-300) dropped on 6 September and it’s still the loudest thing in the KD 19 line this year. Which, honestly, is saying something.

There’s zero contrast on this pair. The moulded shell sits under a metallic green layer with a wet-looking shine, and the little Swoosh on the forefoot is pressed into it in the same green. Along the side runs a big Z-shaped bolt, also green on green. The mesh tongue and collar match the colour but swap the gloss for texture, and the laces and outsole go along with it.

Sounds like nothing? It’s exactly what this shape needs. The KD 19 leans on that early-2000s one-piece look: a closed shell, no panels, no seams to stare at. Put colour blocking on it and you kill the line. Put one colour on it and all you see is the shape.

It also fits the run KD 19 has been on this year. Candy Apple Red, Butter Candy, Blueberry Blast, Berry Blast, all the same recipe: one bright colour, top to bottom. Gorge Green is the green chapter of that candy box. Flip it over and there’s a small detail most people miss: Durant’s numbers 7 and 35 are worked into the tread pattern. Not printed, moulded right into the rubber.

Under the hood it’s a real hoop shoe, with a full-length Air Zoom Strobel, Cushlon 3.0 and a midfoot shank. You can play in it, not just stand around in it.

Four listings, one of them from Nike

Retail in the US was $155. On Solezilla.com the cleanest option is Nike itself at €159.99. After that it jumps: StockX at €197 and Stadium Goods at around €249. That’s four listings from three shops, all in euros. Nothing in pounds or dollars on our side right now, so if you’re in the UK or US, check your local Nike first or add shipping and import costs to the euro prices.

The hype is low-key for now. Hypescore 12, INERT. For a colourway this loud that’s kind of funny, but it also means no reason to pay resale when Nike still lists it.

How to wear it: this is not a lowkey pair, so don’t pretend. Black cargos or a plain dark tracksuit and the green does all the work. Want it to hit harder? Keep the rest of your fit tonal and dark. Want something safer? Wrong shoe, because every KD 19 this year is this loud.

Check the Gorge Green page for sizes, or scroll the full KD 19 candy box. Apple-candy green or just too much? Grail or Bail, you decide.
