Air Jordan 4 “Tour Yellow” (IO2463-102): back after 20 years, and still on the shelf

Air Jordan 4 Tour Yellow IO2463-102

Some retros walk in. This one kicked the door off its hinges and then, surprisingly, stayed on the shelf long enough for everyone to get a pair. The Air Jordan 4 “Tour Yellow” (IO2463-102) came back on 5 September after twenty years away, as a wide release in full family sizing, and almost four weeks later the shops still have it.

White tumbled leather over the whole upper, with the mesh in the same tone. Below it sits the punch: a Tour Yellow midsole speckled with black that lifts the entire side of the shoe, broken up by black under the forefoot. The wing eyelets are translucent in a dark blue grey, the wing itself is dark grey suede, and the yellow comes back small on the tongue branding. Then there’s the detail this colourway built its reputation on. The tongue patch is Velcro and it comes off. Pull it away and there’s Rare Air underneath. No sticker, no print on the box, just a layer you get to peel back yourself.

The Tour Yellow isn’t an OG. It first appeared in 2006 as part of Jordan Brand’s LS line, the lifestyle series aimed at a generation that never saw MJ play and knew the Air Jordan 4 as a shape more than a game shoe. The “Lightning” and the “Thunder” came out of that same class and got their retros years ago. The Tour Yellow was the last of the three still waiting, and this drop finally completes the set. Twenty years is long enough for a colourway to ripen and short enough to remember why you wanted it.

A wall of listings at 209 euros

Here’s what a real general release looks like in the data. On Solezilla.com we’re tracking thirty-two listings in euros for this pair, and the heavy middle of that list sits at retail. Solebox is lowest at €167.99, Footshop follows at €188.99, and then the wall: Asphaltgold, Overkill, 43einhalb, Foot Locker, Snipes, BSTN, One Block Down, Foot District, Size?, Slam Jam, Maha, Giglio and more, all at €209 to €210. Even the resale platforms stay close to that, with Sneakeregeer, Klekt, Geturbrick and Stadium Goods between €199.50 and about €228. Leave aside one boutique listing so high it looks like a typo, and the ceiling is StockX at €416, for anyone who enjoys paying double.

UK buyers have options too. Slam Jam UK starts at £158, BSTN UK sits at £190.99 and Giglio UK at £210. In dollars there’s Slam Jam US at $210, which is under the $220 US retail price, and Giglio US at $264.40. The luxury boutiques ask a lot more in every currency, and you can safely scroll past those.
