Skechers Slip-ins

Slip-ins is not a model but a closure system, and that explains why such diverse shoes are grouped under this name. Skechers devised a way to put on a shoe without using your hands: a reinforced panel in the heel holds the opening so you can step in with your foot and the heel counter folds back behind your heel instead of creasing. The laces at the front are usually present, but no longer need to be undone.

The technique consists of two parts. At the back of the upper there is a curved spring element that keeps the collar open, and in the heel runs a reinforced rim that doesn’t give when you press on it. Together they ensure the shoe keeps its shape without you having to stretch it.
