Nike Vomero Plus

The Vomero Plus is the extreme end of Nike’s softest running line. Where the regular generation is already heavily stacked, this version goes even higher and wider: a block of foam that keeps the foot far from the ground and almost entirely removes the landing. It’s the brand’s response to the wave of maximally cushioned shoes other brands brought to the road.

The sole displays its technology visibly. The name of the foam is embossed along the entire side of the midsole, in a wide, rippling block that runs toward the heel. The upper is a thin knitted panel with a speckled texture, with a heel pull and a lacing system that sits low on the instep. Anything that would add weight above the sole has been omitted, precisely because the sole itself has so much volume.

The positioning is clear: this is a shoe for easy miles and recovery runs, not for speed work.
