Nike Metcon: built to stand under a barbell

Most trainers want to move you forward. The Metcon wants you to stand. Since 2015 this is Nike’s line for strength training and CrossFit, and every component is designed for a different kind of violence than running: heavy lifts, rope climbs, jumps onto a wooden box. The details reveal the purpose at a glance. HYPERLIFT is printed in full on the heel block: that’s the reinforced wedge that doesn’t compress when you stand up with a barbell on your back, because cushioning is great until the moment you need stability.
