About

Jordan Stadium 90

The Stadium 90 is Jordan Brand digging into its own archive without copying a single model. The silhouette borrows elements from basketball shoes around 1990, with the paneling and visual language of that period, but places them on a low, wide base intended more for the street than the court.

The details are recognizable to those familiar with the archive. On the side sits a large Swoosh in contrasting material, with a suede toe below it and a perforated panel for ventilation. Formula 23 is printed on the midsole, a reference to Michael Jordan’s jersey number, and there’s a small rectangular label on the tongue. The sole runs around the shoe in an off-white band.

Its positioning is that of the accessible Jordan: not a retro with a price tag and a queue, but a model that’s simply on store shelves. That makes it many wearers’ first introduction to the brand.

Within the range, the Air Jordan 1 Low and the Jordan Flight Court occupy the same low, everyday angle; the brand’s canon starts with the Air Jordan 1.
