Fel universiteitsrood zet hier de toon, van neus tot hiel, terwijl wit de details laat spreken. Het geborduurde Swoosh licht in wit op tegen het rode vlak, en ook het zwaardlogo krijgt diezelfde witte lijn — kleine contrasten die de HF9550-600 herkenbaar maken voor wie de Kobe 8 Protro op naam kent. Het rood is diep en verzadigd, geen halfslachtig kersrood, en juist daardoor valt elk wit accent scherp op. Een kleurstelling die durft, zonder luid te worden.
De bovenkant van luchtige engineered mesh houdt je voet koel, ook wanneer het tempo omhooggaat, en de versterkte vetergaten trekken de pasvorm strak zonder te knellen. Onder je voet ligt verende demping die elke stap opvangt, zodat je uren doorgaat zonder je voeten te voelen. De herringbone-zool bijt in de ondergrond en houdt je stabiel in elke draai.
