Nike Hypervenom

The Hypervenom broke through in 2013 as a football boot for forwards, focused on agility and ball control in tight spaces rather than straight-line speed. Nike built the boot around a textured forefoot section meant to provide more grip on the ball when receiving and finishing.

The most familiar image is that of the later generations with a sock collar. That pulls the boot up over the ankle and hides the laces under a thin panel, making the whole look like a single piece. Underfoot is a stud plate for natural grass, and the model name runs along the side. Low-collar versions and youth models maintain a more classic look.

The model has largely been absorbed into the Phantom line, where Nike grouped its control boots under one name. The versions still available are therefore mainly older stock.
