About

Asics Superblast

The Superblast is the odd one out in Asics’ lineup, and that’s exactly why it’s so loved. It’s a shoe with the midsole volume of a race model but without the carbon plate that’s normally in one. That means you can wear it every day: not race material that wears out after a few hundred kilometers, but a training shoe with the feel of a racer.

The midsole is the whole reason for its existence. Two types of foam are stacked together, with the brand’s lightest and most springy material on top, recognizable by the name embossed on the side. The whole unit is built tall and flares wide toward the heel, while the toe curves upwards so you naturally roll forward. The upper is a thin, ribbed woven panel with the brand’s familiar crossed stripes on it.

That a daily trainer became so popular is unusual in the running world. The shoe gained a reputation for handling almost everything: light enough for tempo work, soft enough for long, easy runs, and without the limited lifespan of a true race shoe.

Within the range, the successor can be found on the page of the Asics Superblast 2. Those looking for the brand’s classic daily trainers will find the Asics Gel Nimbus or the faster Asics Novablast.

On this page you can see which versions of the Asics Superblast are hottest right now according to the Hypescore, from what price they’re available and in how many shops they’re in stock.
