The adidas Ozwave, usually listed in stores as Ozwave Surge, takes its name from what happens under your foot. The midsole is built from undulating planes, with a sharp, lightning-like line running over them that splits the side in two. It’s the kind of detail that characterizes the Oz range: form that first stands out and only later proves functional.

The upper is warmer and softer than you’d expect from such a sole. Mesh forms the base, with suede-like panels around the heel and toe and the three stripes in a fine woven texture on the side. There’s a pull tab at the heel, the lacing is plain, and the outsole has a sturdy tread. The midsole contains Cloudfoam, the same soft cushioning that gives the Ozelle its everyday comfort.

Within the family, the Ozwave sits between two worlds: in comfort related to the Ozelle, in styling closer to the sculptural side of the Oznova and the classic bulk of the Ozweego.
