TIGHTBOOTH x Nike SB Dunk Low (FD2629-100): metal plates in white leather, and one small orange tag

TIGHTBOOTH x Nike SB Dunk Low FD2629-100

White, black and one tiny orange tag. At first glance the TIGHTBOOTH x Nike SB Dunk Low (FD2629-100) is just another black-and-white Dunk. Look a little longer and you notice the white leather isn’t smooth. There’s a diamond pattern pressed into it, exactly like the metal plates in the street you roll your board over.

That’s on purpose. TIGHTBOOTH is a skate crew from Osaka, running since 2005 under Shinpei Ueno, who also makes the Lenz video series. According to Nike SB itself, the overlays point to the grates and plates the crew skates at night. That’s all the backstory you need. The rest is right there on the shoe.

White on top, black underneath

The overlays are white leather with that plate pattern: toe, eyestay and heel. Underneath sits black suede, same as the Swoosh. Black midsole, white outsole. The tongue is properly padded, the way an SB Dunk should be. The orange TIGHTBOOTH tag sits on the side, just in front of the heel. Small, but you clock it straight away, because everything else is so quiet.

Does it look like a Panda? A bit. But on the Panda the black sits on top of the white, and here it’s the other way round. Add the texture in the leather, suede on the black panels and a black sole that makes it look heavier at the bottom. Already got a Panda in your rotation and want something that’s actually different: this is the one.

Styling is easy. Baggy jeans or black cargos, white or grey hoodie, done. That orange tag is the only colour on the whole shoe, so let it do its thing alone. No orange beanie, no orange bag. Keep it lowkey. The people who know will see it.

Fourteen listings, all in euros

On Solezilla.com we’re tracking fourteen active listings from twelve shops today, and every single one is in euros. We don’t have a UK or US offer on this pair right now, so if you’re shopping in pounds or dollars, check shipping and import costs before you get excited about any number below.

The bottom sits around €160: Side Kicks from €163, Sneaker Ask and StockX around €182, Sneakeregeer just under €200. GOAT also shows a listing at €89. That gap is so big that you check which size and which condition it is before you celebrate. Further up, Collect District, Stadium Goods, Mentastore, Klekt and Geturbrick run from €229 to €315, with HYPENEEDZ at €335 and Bite Em at €350 at the top. Almost all of these are resale and consignment shops. Regular retail doesn’t have this pair any more, so the price mostly depends on your size: the very small and very big ones are scarce.

The hype hasn’t gone anywhere. The Hypescore sits at 82, which is ATOMIC, the top phase on our scale. For a Dunk that dropped in November 2023, that’s strong.

Check the prices per size and per shop on the TIGHTBOOTH page before you click anywhere. Want more SB? Every colourway is on the Nike Dunk SB Low page. And tell us what you think in Grail or Bail.
