Air Max 1 ’86 OG “Lost Sketch”: Blue Safari on full power

Nike Air Max 1 86 OG Lost Sketch Blue Safari DV7525-001

Some sneakers wait their turn in the rotation. Others walk the door off its hinges. The Nike Air Max 1 ’86 OG Big Bubble “Lost Sketch” belongs to the second group. Grey mesh, a lilac-blue upper, a navy suede Swoosh, and then that mudguard full of blue safari print. Sitting still is not its specialty.

The bubble from back when big was allowed to be big

The ’86 OG line is Nike rebuilding the Air Max 1 the way it looked in the very first production run, before the model actually hit shelves in 1987. That means a longer, fatter Air unit in the heel: the Big Bubble. On this pair it sits under a deliberately yellowed cream midsole, chambers visible through the window, with a deep blue outsole below. AIR stands in relief on the side of the heel, exactly where you want it. The silhouette ends up a touch heavier than the regular Air Max 1 you know, and that’s the whole point — this shoe isn’t looking at 2026, it’s looking at the drawing board.

The official name is Light Smoke Grey / Diffused Blue, but everyone calls it Blue Safari, and fairly. The print runs across the entire mudguard, from the toe well back, and it’s the reason the pair won’t stay quiet on your foot. The rest of the upper holds back on purpose: soft grey mesh on the toe and side panels, a muted purple-blue over the rest, grey laces. The navy suede Swoosh is the only dark anchor, and it’s enough. Colours that don’t fight, one print given all the room. Keep it simple on top — straight jeans, a grey hoodie, done. Let the mudguard do the work.

Hypescore 86, and not because it sounds good

This one sits at a Hypescore of 86, band ATOMIC — the top phase of the scale, where the geiger counter runs over. That’s striking for a June 2023 release. Three years after the drop the charge would normally have drained off, but the Lost Sketch keeps giving off energy. The Big Bubble line has built its own crowd that has nothing to do with the release calendar, and that crowd just keeps buying.

On Solezilla.com we’re tracking fourteen active listings across a dozen shops, all in euros, and the spread is wide: the realistic floor is Side Kicks at about €87 and StockX at €103, the pack runs from roughly €108 to €155 at Stadium Goods, The Attic, Patta DE, Collect District, Mentastore and Sneaker Ask, topping out near €157. GOAT shows one listing at €58, low enough that you check the size before you cheer. There’s no UK or US offer on this pair right now, so pounds-and-dollars buyers should add shipping and import. The gap says little about the shoe and everything about the size: the ones nobody has left sit high, the ones everybody has sink. Land in the broad middle of the run and you’re buying this under its original retail.

Which is exactly why you don’t click the first price you see. Line the fourteen shops up on the Lost Sketch (DV7525-001) page, filter your size, and see what’s left. More Air Max 1 colourways are a click over, and the rest of Nike sits right beside them. Rule the Hype.
