There are now more Dunk colorways than there are sensible reasons to buy them all. This is one of the few I have to begrudgingly admit I actually like.
The Dunk Low “Vintage Green” from 2024 does something most Dunks seem to forget: it keeps things understated. An off-white, lightly tumbled leather base is paired with muted vintage-green accents on the heel, tongue trim and outsole. The heel tab features retro NIKE lettering in block type, while the insole contains a hint of recycled material. No loud panels, no collaboration with a brand you’d never heard of last week. Just a clean, well-made shoe.
And that’s exactly my point. In a market where a new Dunk is declared a “must-cop” every week, it’s refreshing to see a pair that relies on restraint. The vintage-green shade feels warm without trying to be trendy, and the washed-out leather gives it the worn-in look other Dunks only develop after two years. This is a shoe that doesn’t try to steal the spotlight—and that’s precisely why it sticks with you.
Do you need it? That depends on how many white-with-an-accent Dunks you already have in your closet. But if you’re going to pick one, choose a pair that will still look right three years from now instead of one you bought because the resale graph happened to be heading in the right direction. This one is the former. Solezilla lists it at six shops, and the prices vary enough to make it worth comparing before you pull the trigger—because that’s usually where the value is, not in the hype.
