Converse is the mirror image of most brands in this series. While other brands tend to deviate from the EU scale, Converse gets it right almost everywhere: only two of the seventeen sizes differ. The issue lies elsewhere. All seventeen UK sizes correspond to a different value than in the standard size chart.
Fit
The Chuck Taylor runs large, and Converse says so itself. If you prefer a snug fit or are between sizes, the advice is to go down half a size. The same applies to the Chuck 70.
That said, it’s worth being honest about this: almost two-thirds of wearers simply stick with their usual size and are happy with it. So think of sizing down as a recommendation for those who want a snug fit, not a rule that applies to everyone.
And it’s the Chuck’s shape, not the brand, that matters here. The Run Star Hike, for example, fits true to size, which Converse also confirms. A blanket statement that “Converse runs large” simply isn’t accurate.
The UK column is the problem
Converse is originally an American brand, but its UK sizing differs across the board from what a generic conversion predicts. Every row, without exception.

EU and the rest
You can reasonably rely on your usual EU size with Converse: only two of the seventeen rows differ, both at the top end of the range. US 11.5, for example, is EU 46 rather than 45.5.
