Asics Gel Resolution: the tennis shoe that must survive sideways movement

Running is one direction. Tennis is all directions at once, and that destroys shoes in places a runner never reaches. The Gel Resolution is Asics’s answer to that load: a match tennis shoe built above all not to give way when you brake, slip and push off again.

The support is literally on the outside. On the sidewall of the midsole DYNAWALL is printed, the raised rim that prevents your foot from rolling over the sole edge during a lateral push-off. Above it the Asics stripes are not decoration but a bridge: they run like wide straps across the midfoot and pull the laces’ tension toward the sole. The upper is a fine mesh full of ventilation openings, and GEL-RESOLUTION is written out on the flank.

The headings require one note, because this page contains three types of surface. A Clay version is the gravel variant, with a fine herringbone tread that runs over the sole edge so the gravel falls out instead of packing in. Padel versions are tuned to the padel court. The others are the regular hardcourt versions. So choose your surface first and then your size.

The generations run through to the X, and note: that X is the Roman numeral ten, the successor to the 9. An older generation is not inferior, but the range quickly shifts toward the newest.

Within the Asics family this is the counterpart to the running lines: where the Gel Kayano guides you forward, the Resolution holds you up laterally. If you prefer to look at tennis models from another brand, see NikeCourt, where the same surface considerations apply.

On this page you’ll see which versions of the Asics Gel Resolution are currently hottest according to the Hypescore, from what price they can be found and in how many shops they are in stock.
