About

Adidas F50 Elite

The F50 Elite is the top version of adidas’ revived speed line, and thus the shoe in which the brand tries to use as little material as possible. The entire construction is focused on weight: an ultra-thin synthetic upper, a soleplate that only exists where it’s needed, and nothing else that could slow a player down.

The details reveal that aim. The upper is so thin you can see the shape of the foot underneath, with the three stripes not stitched but applied directly onto the material. The soleplate is translucent with the model name printed across it in large letters, and on the underside the studs are mixed in two types: conical ones for stability and blade-shaped ones for cutting at high speed. Even the heel counter has been reduced to a thin rim.

The Elite designation marks the difference from the rest of the line. Where the Pro and Match versions have the same shape but with heavier materials and a simpler soleplate, this is the version worn by pros, with the price to match.

The full overview of the line is on the Adidas F50 page, and the complete brand range is on the Adidas football boots page.
