About Vans Anaheim Factory
Back to the factory in Anaheim
The Anaheim Factory line refers to the place where the brand began: the workshop at 704 E. Broadway in Anaheim, where Paul Van Doren and his brother made their first pairs in 1966 and sold them on the spot. The very first twelve pairs went out the door on September 16, 1966.
Silhouettes with their old numbers
The collection brings the classics back as they were then called — before the names Old Skool, Authentic and Sk8-Hi they were simply numbered 36, 44 and 38. Characteristic is the thicker, shinier “marshmallow” sidewall from the vulcanization process, complemented by original colors such as racing red and mineral green.
Old silhouette, modern inside
Where the Anaheim versions differ from the regular line is mainly underfoot: UltraCush cushioning makes the vintage model lighter and softer than the original, without affecting the shape.
