About Puma CA Pro

A modern take on the California

The CA Pro — full name California Pro — builds on one of PUMA’s oldest tennis silhouettes. The original California appeared in 1982 as a training shoe and took its name from the “California technique,” in which the upper and sole are essentially reduced to two components, improving flexibility.

From court to street

The California made its name on the tennis court — including on the feet of Argentine Guillermo Vilas — but its clean, low design made the jump to the street effortlessly. Already in the 1980s the model stood for casual style.

Chunkier and sturdier

The CA Pro takes that court-DNA and makes it chunkier: a heavier sole and contemporary materials give the classic shape a more robust presence, without hiding its tennis origins.
