About Nike Total 90 III

Nike Total 90 III: the generation that made the line famous

Every series has one installment that overshadows the rest, and for the Total 90 it’s the third. The III from the mid‑2000s lifted the line from a serious football boot to a cultural phenomenon, partly because a very young Wayne Rooney charged through European defenses with them around Euro 2004. What you see on this page is the indoor and street version of that shoe: the same shape, but with a flat rubber sole instead of studs.

The details are sharply legible. Across the toe runs a stitched braided checker pattern — on the football boot the zone where you strike the ball, here preserved as a graphic signature. The swoosh sits low and wide on the flank, with contrasting stitching that divides the panels like a spider’s web. And on the heel total90 appears in mirror script, the family’s signature mark. The upper is smooth synthetic leather with a slight sheen, built to withstand ball contact.

Two spellings are used under the name: Total 90 III and Total 90 3, plus versions with SP in the title for the more recent reissues. It’s the same shoe; the numbering only alternates between Roman and Arabic numerals. This designation also corresponds exactly with the parent page, since the III makes up by far the largest part of the entire Total 90 offering.

If you want to see the other branches: the SE applies this shape in snake leather, the Mule cuts off the heel, and the Shox Magia places the upper on Shox columns. The III remains the purest of them, and the reason the whole line still exists.

On this page you can see which versions of the Nike Total 90 III are currently hottest according to the Hypescore, from what price they can be found and in how many shops they are in stock.
