About New Balance 370
New Balance 370
The 370 is one of the most accessible models in New Balance’s lineup, and that’s exactly the intention. The silhouette comes from the brand’s running shoes of the 1970s: low, narrow and with the large brand letter as the defining visual element along the side.
The construction is simple. Over a mesh base lie suede panels on the toe and the heel, with the N as a separately stitched panel in a contrasting color between them. The midsole runs as an off-white band that rises slightly toward the heel, with a thin rubber outsole underneath. The model number is printed small on the heel.
That rising silhouette is what sets the model apart from the brand’s more classic numbers: it gives the shoe a slightly forward-leaning stance, as if it’s already in motion. That detail comes from the same generation of running shoes to which the better-known models also trace back.
Within the brand’s range, the New Balance Numeric cover the skate side and the New Balance 408 the comfort segment; the Karhu Legacy 96 and the Autry Reelwind serve the same retro taste at other brands.
