The Cloud X is one of the best-known models from Swiss brand On, built around the distinctive CloudTec cushioning. It’s a lightweight, versatile shoe that suits a workout as well as an easy run.

Clouds under the sole

CloudTec consists of individual cushioning pods — the “clouds” — in the outsole. On landing they absorb impact by compressing locally; at toe-off they work together with the stiff Speedboard in the midsole, which channels the forward motion.
