Some revivals stay close to the original. The Mule does the opposite and saws off the entire back. What remains is the front of the Total 90, from the toe to halfway along the foot, where you step in like a slipper. It is the quirkiest branch of the family and at the same time the smallest.
The front retains the line’s features: the stitched braided pattern over the toe, the low swoosh, and the brand name that stays on the flank. On top of the instep lies a foldable flap of rough suede that you can wear open or closed, with button details on both sides. The sole continues into a speckled cream block with a coarsely profiled underside, so the shoe keeps grip despite its open heel.
This is explicitly a fashion piece from the revival since 2024, not a sports shoe. The offering is very narrow and the sizing correspondingly limited, so anyone interested should act quickly. For the closed versions of the same silhouette there are the Total 90 III and the premium SE.
