The sixth generation is the Venture that never left. Where most models are replaced and disappear after a few years, the 6 simply stayed in production while the 7 and 8 had long been around — too cheap to cut, too well sold to replace. The red plug in the arch

Look under the middle of the shoe: in the hollow of the arch sits a separately colored insert with a diamond pattern, often in signal red, also on otherwise monochrome versions.
