About Adidas Court
adidas Court
Court at adidas is not a single model but a heritage. It refers to the tennis court, and thus to the longest uninterrupted line in the brand’s history: leather shoes with a low cut, a flat rubber sole and three stripes often rendered as perforated holes rather than stitched-on bands.
Why a tennis shoe looks the way it does
The shape did not come from a stylistic choice but from a regulation. On clay and indoor courts a sole was not allowed to leave marks, so it was kept flat and light in color. lateral braking required a wide base and a sturdy toe. What remained was a shoe so simple that it never went out of fashion — not because it was designed to be timeless, but because there was nothing on it that could age.
What falls under this name
The Court family is broad. It includes modern competition models built for the court itself, and lifestyle versions that use the silhouette purely as a form. Some rely on classic leather with a perforated stripe pattern, others on lightweight synthetic uppers. They share the low cut and flat sole, but not the technology underneath.
Choose by silhouette, not by name
Because the name Court covers so many different shoes, the word itself says little about what you get. The specific version determines everything: how high the sole sits, whether the upper is leather or textile, and whether it’s made for the court or for the city. One family name, a whole menagerie beneath it.
