Vans and the MLB keep circling back to each other, and this Sk8-Hi in Dodger blue is one of the better results. It doesn’t whisper the collab — it goes all in on the team — but it’s built so it reads as a shoe first and merch second.
Royal blue, a checkerboard heel, and a sole with miles on it
The base is royal blue: suede on the toe, canvas up the sides. The heel carries a cream checkerboard, the pattern that’s pure Vans. “Dodgers” sits in script on the lateral side with the LA logo next to it, and contrasting zigzag stitching runs through the panels for a handmade, slightly rough finish. The white sidestripe does its usual thing down the middle. The sole is deliberately aged — yellowed, like you’ve already run a season in them. That last part is a taste test: you either like a pre-worn look or you don’t.
Styling a high-top Vans is mostly about not burying it. Straight or slightly cropped jeans, cargos, or a loose chino — let the ankle show. Keep the top half calm, because the shoe is already the loudest thing you’ve got on: a plain hoodie, an overshirt, or a bomber and you’re set. The blue is bright enough to lead the outfit, so build everything else around it in muted tones.
Out today, but the only listing is resale
The Vans Sk8-Hi “LA Dodgers” — Vans files the colourway as “Classic Blue” — releases today, 9 October 2026, as a broad drop through Vans and selected retailers. On Solezilla.com, though, the shelves are still basically empty: we’re tracking a single active listing right now, from one resale marketplace, at around €465. That’s resale pricing, well north of what a Sk8-Hi normally costs, and it’s in euros only — no UK or US listing has landed yet, so anyone shopping in pounds or dollars is also looking at shipping and import on top.
So don’t read that €465 as the price of the shoe. It’s the price of being first. Since this is a wide release, regular retail should fill in over the coming days, and that’s when comparing actually starts to pay off. There’s no Hypescore on this pair yet either, which is exactly what you’d expect from a release that only just went live.
Keep an eye on the prices and sizes on the LA Dodgers page as more shops come in, or browse the rest of the Vans Sk8-Hi line while you wait for retail. Team shoe or just the silhouette — tell us in Grail or Bail whether this one makes your rotation.
