Nike Dunk Low “Diffused Taupe” (DD1503-125): styling taupe and plum this autumn

Nike Dunk Low Diffused Taupe (DD1503-125)

Some Dunks shout. The Nike Dunk Low “Diffused Taupe” (DD1503-125) does the opposite, and that restraint is exactly what makes it so easy to wear. Sail, a soft greyed taupe and a deep plum Swoosh: three tones you probably already have hanging in your autumn wardrobe, now sitting together on one shoe.

Sail, taupe and one plum accent

The base is sail, that warm off-white Nike leans on so often and that reads a lot softer than a bright white. Over it sit the overlays in Diffused Taupe, a greyish rose-beige that runs across the toe, around the eyestay and onto the heel. The laces pick up the same taupe, and so does the outsole. The contrast is the Swoosh: a dark plum that almost reads brown and returns once more on the heel tab. The toebox keeps its familiar perforations and the midsole stays sail, so the whole shoe sits low and light.

Nothing dominates. That sets it apart from most women’s Nike Dunk colourways, which usually lean on one loud tone. Search for a beige or a brown Dunk and you’ll probably land here, even though the shoe is really neither. That in-between is the point.

Pairing taupe with plum

Taupe likes company. On its own it can go flat, but next to texture and a slightly deeper tone it comes alive. A tonal route works well: wide trousers in camel or sand, a ribbed knit in ecru, a long wool coat a shade darker. The shoe stays quiet and the plum Swoosh gives the outfit the one small accent that lifts it from plain to intentional. Add a bag or belt in dark brown and it’s done.

Denim is the easy counterweight. A straight mid-blue or washed light jean warms the taupe up; add a white shirt loosely tucked and a short jacket in chocolate or burgundy. That last colour echoes the Swoosh without matching it. And if you want to push it, a satin midi or a knit dress in deep plum or mauve, with this Dunk instead of a boot, is the combination where the shoe surprises you most. What to avoid: bright white, neon, anything that shouts. This palette is built on muted colours and loses its charm next to something louder.

A transition-season shoe

Sail and taupe show rain and road grime faster than a dark sole, so I’d save this one for September through to November rather than the depths of winter. The upper is leather, so a light protector spray before the first wear is worth it, especially on the sail panels.

Fourteen listings, all in euros

The Diffused Taupe arrived in November 2023 as a women’s model at €199.99 and sold out at Nike long ago. What’s left is the second round. On Solezilla.com we’re tracking fourteen active listings from thirteen shops today, and every single one is in euros. There’s no UK or US offer on this pair right now, so if you shop in pounds or dollars, add shipping and import before any number below gets you excited.

Most of the pack sits between roughly €97 and €175, with OZ Sneaker, Collect District and House of Sneakers near the bottom and Stadium Goods, Exclusivexitems and KeepItSneaker at the top. GOAT shows a listing at €25 and StockX around €61, and those gaps are big enough that you check which size and which condition before you celebrate. Almost all of these are resale and consignment shops, so the real price depends on your size: the very small and very big ones are scarce, and two shops can differ by tens of euros for the same size.

The Hypescore sits at 77, in the ATOMIC band, the top of our scale. For a colourway with no collab and no backstory, that’s a lot of charge, and it’s why the prices aren’t really dropping: the shoe is quietly popular. Not a panic buy, but one you judge on your size rather than on the lowest number at the top of the list.

Compare the Nike Dunk Low “Diffused Taupe” per size across every shop we track, then have a look at the other muted Dunk tones over at Nike. With fourteen listings, it pays to compare by size, not by shoe.
