Nike Air Force 1 Low LX “Icon” Green Apple (IV6822-399): the greenest Force of the year, still at retail

Nike Air Force 1 Low LX Icon Green Apple (IV6822-399)

Some Air Force 1s walk in. Others kick the door off its hinges. The Nike Air Force 1 Low LX “Icon” is built like the second kind: a fully glossy green Force that dropped across Europe on Saturday 19 September for around €130, no raffle, no pass, just a wide release. Two weeks on, the interesting part isn’t whether you could get it. It’s that you still can.

Green from lace to rubber

The whole leather is Green Apple, and not matt but lacquered, like it just came out of the paint. The Swoosh and the heel are done in a leather with an ostrich texture, so the green there picks up the light differently from the smooth panels beside it. The only metal on the entire shoe is the gold-tone hardware at the laces. On the lateral heel sits “1ICON” with a small Swoosh behind it, the letters drawn to echo the sole of an AF1. The midsole and outsole carry straight on in the same green, with “AIR” tonal on the heel. No white, no contrast, no breathing room. Fully green, top to bottom.

Where the name comes from

Nike frames this Force as a nod to the Tokyo AF1 scene, and specifically to the 1LOVE store that opened in Harajuku in the late 2000s to mark 25 years of the Air Force 1. A red-orange AF1 in exotic leather from realmad HECTIC appeared there back then. This green “Icon” flips that palette and keeps the exotic texture on the Swoosh. The shoe was unveiled this summer at an AF1 exhibition at atmos Sendagaya in Tokyo, next to the original HECTIC pair. Now the rest of the world has it.

Still sitting at retail

Here’s the honest read. On Solezilla.com we’re tracking sixteen active listings in euros, and the striking thing is how many of them are still at the retail price. Asphaltgold, 43einhalb, Footshop, Solebox, Kith, Foot District and Noirfonce all sit right around €129 to €130, exactly where the shoe launched. Offspring is just above at €141, and only the resale end, Mentastore near €170, Sneaker Ask near €174 and StockX at €212, runs higher. There’s no UK or US listing in the comparison right now, so pound and dollar shoppers should add shipping and import. For a shoe this loud, a board full of retail two weeks after launch tells its own story.

And the data backs it up. Our Hypescore reads 14, which is INERT, the bottom of the scale, radio silence. That’s partly because it only just dropped and the votes and resale signal are still coming in, so don’t write the number in stone yet. But right now this isn’t a Force charging up. It’s one sitting on the radar, waiting to see if anyone turns the dial.

Grail or Bail

So Kaijū asks you straight. A fully green, glossy Air Force 1 with an ostrich Swoosh and gold at the laces, still at retail across half of Europe: is this a grail you grab before the shops run dry, or one you let walk? Vote below in Grail or Bail, your vote feeds the early hype picture while the charge is still building. Then compare the shops on the Air Force 1 “Icon” page and check which sizes are still sitting at €130 before the resale crowd decides for you. More colourways live over at Nike. Rule the Hype.
