Sometimes you see a sneaker and instantly know how you’d wear it — only to find out it doesn’t come in your size. That’s exactly what happened with this one.
The Ja Morant × Air Force 1 Low is one of the best-looking white AF1s I’ve seen this year. And it’s not just white: the leather has an iridescent, pearlescent sheen that shifts from silver to soft lilac to blue as the light changes. Subtle cobalt accents appear in Ja Morant’s logo on the heel and side, while the rest stays completely tonal. Understated yet distinctive — exactly the kind of shoe that elevates a simple outfit.
That’s exactly how I’d wear it, too. Wide-leg cream trousers, a light-blue shirt that picks up the cobalt, or simply straight-leg jeans with a white tee — the sheen does all the work, so you don’t have to overthink it. Add a summer dress and bare ankles, and you’re done.
Except I can’t get them. The release starts at size 38.5 and goes up to 49.5 — a strictly men’s size run, with nothing below that. And my feet are just too small. I’m not the only one, either: a large part of the audience that would want to wear this shoe falls just outside that range.
And that’s a shame, because this is exactly the kind of colorway that could appeal to a broader — and yes, more female — audience. Is Nike missing the mark here? A pearly white AF1 with such an elegant sheen, and only in men’s sizes? The question I really want to ask is: when are the women’s sizes coming?
For now, it’s scarce anyway: Solezilla lists it at just one shop, priced at around €376. So even those who do fall within the available size range are paying a premium.
