The name says “Electro Orange”, so you expect something you can spot from three blocks away. Not quite. Take a close look at this Jordan 1 High: the orange only appears at the top and bottom. Everything in between is simply white and black.
How it’s put together
Black toe box, black eyestay, black Swoosh on a white side panel. The Wings logo is black on the ankle. So far, it’s a clean black-and-white 1, and that’s exactly the kind of base that works with anything.
The orange does two things. Up top, it appears in the collar as a band around your ankle. Down below, it covers the entire outsole. So you get an orange line at the top and another at the bottom, with plenty of calm in between.
That’s what makes the difference. A colorway with an entirely orange side panel dictates your whole fit. This one doesn’t. It lets you choose.
What to wear with it
Baggy jeans or cargos, black trousers, grey sweats. The classic options, and they all work because the middle section is neutral. As long as your trousers leave the collar visible, you’ll see that orange band and have more than enough detail.
Want to make it bolder? Show off the collar with cropped or rolled-up hems. Prefer to keep it low-key? Let a longer hem partially cover the collar, leaving the outsole as the only accent and making the shoe read almost like a basic 1.
Don’t pile on more orange. No orange hoodie to match. The two orange sections on the shoe are enough; anything beyond that turns it into a theme.
